Nike Stadium – Everything Is Practice. Ft. Spike Lee

Outside of work, American writer/director/producer and Oscar nominee, Spike Lee, is a doting father to his son and also an assistant coach to his son, Jason Lee’s soccer league. The short film “Everything Is Practice” for Nike Stadium, document Lee coaching his son’s soccer league practice at the Sara D. Roosevelt Park field in Chinatown, New York City. Lee narrates the film and talks about coaching children, his son’s practice, the relationship people have with soccer, and simply being a parent. The film is directed by Jake Summers with photography by Nabil Elderkin, and it gives the audience a different perspective of soccer, aside from the glitz, action and glamor we see from the broadcast World Cup games. Behind every goal and every moment in life, everything is practice indeed. Words by: Emily of Freshness
