While Nike is releasing the Back to the Future "inspired" Hyperdunks, purists know that they aren't the real deal. Sort of looking like the shoes from the movie isn't enough. They need to be the shoes from the movie. Well, here you go: the original prototype shoe built for the movie. It doesn't get much more authentic than this, and it's actually available now on eBay. - More info @ Gizmodo
With the recent unveiling of the US team for this year’s run at Olympic gold in basketball, Nike held an event to launch the Olympic series of Hyperdunks as well as pay tribute to the US Olympic Basketball teams legacy and past. The styles launched all relate back to various Nike sponsored national teams such as Russia, Argentina, China, Australia, Spain, Puerto Rico, Lithuania and Germany. Within these teams and their respective colorways, marquee players such as Pau Gasol of Spain, Manu Ginobli of Argentina and Dirk Nowitzki of Germany all got further touches added to make these Hyperdunks a little more personal.

Undefeated in Santa Monica will mark the first release location of the highly anticipated “Marty McFly” inspired Nike Hyperdunk. Featuring Nike’s newest hi-tech Flywire technology along with speckled midsoles, an amazing colorway and Back to the Future-esque badging, not to mention the glowing soles, these shoes are the total collector’s item.
A few days ago, we were given a sneak peek of the McFly Colorway Hyperdunks from a picture of the tongue tags, and a photoshop mock-up of what could have been. Now we have a new picture of the actual Hyperdunks. As predicted the body of the shoe is mainly grey with blue accents; the details include blue speckled mid-soles and blue wiring. There is still no word on availability or release dates.-HYPEBEAST & marqueesole
A subject of intense interest and controversy, the Nike McFly’s originally seen in Back to the Future II movie has created a series of grass roots efforts for Nike to produce the shoe. Nike’s first actual acknowledgment of the McFly’s sneaker fan interest is perhaps seen here with an upcoming McFly-inspired colorway of the Nike Hyperdunk. The Hyperdunk itself has received its fair share of hype in recent memory thanks to a largely successful viral video campaign featuring Kobe Bryant defying gravity in various acts of athleticism. No word yet on availability and all that is seen here is a preview of the tongue tags. No plutonium necessary.-Via Hypebeast & Marqueesole
