NIKE "Pedob-Airs"

If you thought YaoKustoms' ‘Just Did It’ Tiger Woods Supra High Tops were rather controversial, wait until you see this trendy new pair of Nike sneakers.

Does it get any more offensive than Pedobear, the mascot that has become synonymous with creepy pedophiles everywhere? The innocent looking grizzly's latest appearance comes on this interesting piece of footwear created by the American-based sportswear giants.

As for the name of these shoes, for now we'll call them the Nike Pedob-Airs. Via Total Pro Sports

Nike Zoom Lebron VI - Stewie Griffin – Unreleased Sample

With a will to kill and an absurd power to actually accomplish it, Stewie Griffin might be the most formidable toddler on the planet, albeit he’s just a greation of Seth MacFarlane’s “Family Guy”. The son of Peter and Lois Griffin has made his way through space and time (Stewie had built a time machine and traveled back in time to World War II and hilarity and chaos ensued), and has now landed on quite an unlikely yet not utterly surprising partner, the Nike Zoom Lebron VI.

Absolutely animated and dressed in Stewie’s signature overall,s the Lebron VI are cell shaded and feature deep black outlines that are stylistically Family Guy. The toe portion of the shoe is dressed in Stewie’s yellow shirt and matching red overalls, and the blue accents on the midsoles are derived from his shoes. While these kicks are definitely awesome and ready for play (or ready to kill, as Stewie was born to do), these are unreleased samples and might never make it to the racks. So, for those who do love a good pair of pop-culture inspired kicks, enjoy the photos! via: SN/Kenlu/ Words by Emily for Freshness

Nike x G.I. Joe Pack - Alpholution - Cobra Commander Edition

Nike x G.I. Joe Pack - Alpholution - Cobra Commander Edition. Fashioned in a red, navy, and grey color combination, the sneaker is reminiscent of the enigmatic masked leader of Cobra who roll his “s” as he speaks with a raspy voice. The designers at Nike also took into account the materials used on this particular footwear by incorporating snake-skin pattern leather interlaced with breathable mesh. Grey overlays wrapped across and around the sneaker’s frame. The overlays are also reflective, which create an eerie appearance when light is shine upon it. On the tongue is the emblem of the Cobra. No word on the official release date, though many suspect it to be near the movie debut in August of this year.

Air Jordan 5 “Toro Bravo” Pack

The latest Air Jordan multi-shoe pack will release late this month month under the theme of “Toro Bravo”. Featuring two versions of the Air Jordan V, the shoe is inspired by a special and heralded species of bull which is bred for the Running of the Bulls event in Pamplona, Spain. The black version is inspired by “both the Toro Bravo, known for its aggressiveness, strength, vigor and intelligence, and Michael Jordan’s basketball career, which exemplified these qualities and more.” On the other hand the red version “represents the passion, inspired by MJ’s drive for the game and taking its color from the red bandannas runners in Pamplona wear.” A special custom-box set featuring the menacing eyes of a red-eye’d pull peering through a crate keeps in line with the shoe’s concept at hand. The Toro Bravo pack is set for a May 30th release.

Nike RT1 - Black - Red

One of the most talked about new shoes from Nike Sportswear’s Summer 2009 Collection has been the Nike RT1, which some might call the “Un-Yeezy” due to it’s similarities with the Nike x Kanye West Air Yeezy sneaker. While the Nike RT1 might share some similar features to it’s silhouette as the Air Yeezy the shoe is built on a completely different midsole and outsole and additionally does not feature the midfoot strap that the Yeezy has. Additionally some good news about the RT1 is that it only retails for $95 USD and this first colorway in Black and Red will be hitting Nike Sportswear retailers in April. via Sneaker News/ Freshness

American workwear activist, Michael Williams, brings us some first looks at the Wolverine Boot Heritage Collection coming soon to doors near you. “Maybe there is hope for classic American brands. Wolverine, the 125+ year old boot maker, is launching a heritage collection this coming fall with a selection of boots made right in one of Wolverine’s U.S. factories…The boots are made from beautiful leather, have good detailing and are in classic shapes. I love it when a company keeps it simple and falls back on its roots for inspiration.” Via Selectism

Kanye West X LV - "Louis Vuitton Dons" sneaker

Last evening Nice Kicks posted a solid red color way of the new Louis Vuitton Dons designed by the self proclaimed Louis Vuitton Don himself, Kanye West. The shoes were featured in a fashion show on the feet of the runway models, but Mr. West took a quick pick with all four colorways of the upcoming sneaker. Besides the solid red, the Louis Vuitton Dons were made in all white, beige with a black sole, and solid black.

Though the uppers of the shoes are monochromatic, a mixture of materials are anything but monotonous. Kanye opted for a mixture of rich leather, suede, and patent leather on the upper of the Louis Vuitton Dons. No release information or pricing has been made available at this point, but from checking eLuxury, prices for comparable sneakers start in the $600 range. I would assume these would be higher.
