Lance Armstrong X KAWS “Stages” Collection Bike

As a part of the Lance Armstrong “Stages” Collection, artist KAWS worked together with Armstrong and TREK on a customized Madone 6.9 Bike for Lance to ride during this year’s Milan-San Remo race. The bike was on display this past weekend during the “Stages” exhibition and garnered most of the attention following the event next to the Nike Sportswear x LIVESTRONG products. You can see the signature touch that KAWS put on this one of a kind bike as well as one of Lance’s mottos “WNW” hidden on the bike’s bottom bracket, which stands for “Winners not Whiners”. via SuperTouch/ Freshness

Nike & Lance Armstrong - Stages Exhibition Event

Athletic gear giant Nike, is working in conjunction with the legendary Lance Armstrong, and announced the creation of Stages – A Global Art Exhibition, to benefit the fight against cancer. After the premiere of a series of unique creations, including a mural by Shepard Fairey, and 2 customized cycles by KAWS and Barry McGee. Lance Armstrong, LIVESTRONG’s President Doug Ulman, along with Nike CEO Mark Parker, took the stage in panel discussion about the inspiration behind Stages.

KAWS “The Long Way Home” Exhibition

This weekend marks the opening of KAWS’ newest “The Long Way Home” exhibition at the Honor Fraser Gallery. Previews into his work to be presented features a number of re-appropriations of iconic cartoon franchises including SpongeBob, The Smurfs and The Simpsons. The exhibition will also include a life-sized Chum character among other iconic pieces.The show opens Saturday, February 21st at 6:00 pm and runs until 8:00 pm.

KAWS gets set for a trip across the country with his first solo show in Los Angeles, opening up February 21st, 2009. Entitled “The Long Way Home”, the Brooklyn-based artist showcases his trademark pop culture style in the form of new paintings and sculptural work referencing iconic influences with his brand of clever reinterpretations. Exit 111 - Artwork

Here is a piece of digital artwork that I did. I used a style that was invented and perfected by one of my favorite artists KAWS. I took the KAWS style and applied it to the EXIT 111 sign from my hometown.

Highlighting the OriginalFake 2008 fall/winter look is a set of hoodies, perfect for the chilly months ahead. Keeping a minimal theme in motion, OF gives both styles solid colors with subtle detailing. Featuring a KAWS teeth print along the zipper and buttons with “XX” embroidery along the sleeve cuffs, all three hoodies keep the embroidery very tonal. Two garments include full zipper fronts while the navy blue piece combines a full zip hidden enclosure with snap buttons. The line should be hitting OriginalFake retailers very soon.-Via Hypebeast

Original Fake 2008 Autumn/Winter Collection

Original Fake, the brand by the artist KAWS, has released their catalog for their 2008 Autumn/Winter Collection. Thanks to a reseller who gotten their hands on one of these, we can take a look at what’s coming out soon. Looking through the images, we can see collaborations items done with Porter, Gallery 1950, Cause, New Era and more. There are some interesting products here and there such as the ashtrays, carpets and bags. The collection should start dropping in stores soon.
